Pressure Vessel Fabrication

britannia:jahco designs and fabricates custom pressure vessels in Dandenong South, Victoria. Every vessel is pressure tested and certified to AS 1210 and ASME Section VIII Division 1, and registered with the relevant state authority before leaving the workshop.

Key Highlights

AS 1210 Design and Registration

Every pressure vessel britannia:jahco fabricates is designed to AS 1210, the Australian standard that governs statutory pressure vessel registration in every state and territory. Design registration is managed as part of the project scope, not left to the client.

Full Range of Vessel Types

britannia:jahco fabricates air receivers, separators, knock-out drums, surge drums, flash vessels, blow-down vessels, reactor vessels, jacketed vessels, storage vessels, and pressure vessels for human occupancy (PVHO). Vessel geometry covers cylindrical, vertical and horizontal orientations, to suit the design pressure and application.

Materials Carefully Selected for the Service

We fabricate in carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex stainless, and nickel alloys. Material is sourced to ASTM and AS 1548 specifications with certified material test reports (CMTRs) and full heat number traceability.

Code-Compliant Welding

Certified welders work to qualified welding procedure specifications (WPS) under AS 3992, AS 4041, ASME IX, and AS 1554. Weld Maps can be produced for every vessel, if agreed prior.

Testing

Non-destructive examination covers radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and liquid penetrant testing (PT). Hydrostatic pressure testing follows AS 4037 and ASME Section VIII, typically at 1.3 to 1.5 times design pressure.

End-to-End Project Management

britannia:jahco manages every project from thermal and mechanical design through material procurement, fabrication, testing, design registration, and on-site delivery.

Why Choose Our Pressure Vessel Services?

britannia:jahco's is an Australian pressure vessel manufacturer. Design, fabrication, testing, and registration capability are all available in one workshop at Dandenong South, Victoria.

Pressure vessels are designed to AS 1210 and ASME Section VIII Division 1. Where the project requires it, we also design to AS 1210 Class 1 for high-integrity service and PVHO duty. Design registration with the relevant state authority (WorkSafe Victoria, SafeWork NSW, and equivalent bodies in other states) is managed as part of the project.

We hold ISO 9001 certification through LRQA and fabricate to the full range of vessel classes: AS 1210 Class 1, Class 2A, and Class 2B. Every vessel leaves the workshop with a full documentation package: CMTRs, weld map, ITP, NDE reports, hydrostatic test records, and the design registration certificate.

Signs You Need Pressure Vessel Services

Consider our services if you need:

When an existing vessel reaches the end of its design life or a new process requires a vessel sized to specific operating conditions, a custom built unit is the right answer. Britannia Jahco designs to the service and handles registration.

All pressure vessels above the threshold in each Australian jurisdiction must be registered with the relevant state authority before use. britannia:jahco manages design registration as part of the fabrication scope.

When operating conditions change (higher design pressure, new process fluid, or a different temperature range), the existing vessel may need recertification or replacement. A new mechanical design confirms whether the vessel meets the new requirements.

Applications requiring certified, high-quality welding and fabrication.

Australian projects must comply with AS 1210. Petroleum and natural gas applications may also require compliance with API 510 for in-service inspection. Fabrication must meet AS 3992, AS 4041, and AS 1554 as the scope requires.

Jacketed vessels, insulated vessels, clad vessels, and PVHO construction each have specific design and fabrication requirements. britannia:jahco has fabricated vessels in all of these categories

Our Process

1

Initial Consultation

We review your service specification (design pressure, design temperature, fluid type, orientation, and applicable code) and confirm the vessel class and registration pathway.

2

Mechanical Design

Mechanical design to AS 1210 and ASME Section VIII Division 1 covers shell and head thickness, nozzle loads, MAWP, corrosion allowance, saddle and support design, and lifting lug sizing. Design documentation is prepared for registration submission.

3

Material Sourcing

Materials are sourced to ASTM and AS 1548 specifications. Options cover carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and nickel alloys. Cladding and lining are available on corrosion-resistant duties. All materials carry CMTRs

4

Fabrication and Assembly

Certified welders work to qualified proceduresunder AS 3992, AS 4041, ASME IX, and AS 1554. Shell plates are rolled, heads are formed, and nozzles are fitted and welded to full penetration. Weld maps are maintained throughout.

5

Rigorous Quality Testing

NDE covers RT, UT, MT, and PT to the applicable code procedures. Hydrostatic pressure testing follows AS 4037 and ASME Section VIII at 1.3 to 1.5 times design pressure. Every vessel ships with CMTRs, a weld map, NDE reports, hydrostatic test records, and a full ITP.

6

Registration, Installation, and Final Inspection

Design registration is submitted to the relevant state authority. We provide ongoing support to you.

Why Choose britannia:jahco?

britannia:jahco brings mechanical design, certified fabrication, NATA-accredited testing, design registration, and code-compliance documentation together in one workshop. We hold ISO 9001 certification through LRQA and fabricate to AS 1210 Class 1, Class 2A, and Class 2B.

Safety in Our Pressure Vessel Services

Every britannia:jahco pressure vessel is fabricated under a documented quality plan. Materials carry CMTRs with full heat number traceability. Welds are made under qualified WPS and PQR records and inspected by NATA-accredited NDE methods. Hydrostatic testing at 1.3 to 1.5 times design pressure confirms pressure envelope integrity. Design registration with the relevant state authority confirms statutory compliance before the vessel enters service.
